Topic: Where to get a new CB750 clutch cable screw

I've searched and cruised the web, does anyone know where I can get a new screw for the clutch cable on my cb750?

Are you referring to the adjuster that mounts to the clutch lever. TAS I think had those cheap at one time but they have left E-bay I believe or got kicked off.My local shop shows they may still sell them from Honda for are you ready--Gulp-- $4.67 for "bolt cable adjusting" and $4.72 for the round "nut fixing"--  Gulp

Nope and if a person had to pay high shipping that would be a major double GULP-  Post an add in the wanted section or snoop around on the parts fische to see what other models used them or even other makes for that matter and see if you can hunt up a used one somewhere. Think I used one from a 750 on my Water Buffalo when I was working on it.  Sure CB750 was not the only machine using that get up.

It's not hardly a simple screw. Its machined with a shoulder and a slot, and its chrome plated. They last forever, so not many get sold.

FYI: It is the same adjuster that came on the 305 Super Hawk and many other bikes. But the same comments apply. They are not an easy piece to manufacture, and other than losing one, Honda never expected any one to buy a replacement. So the price is reasonable IMO.

But everyone is entitled to their opinion. Not picking on you, though it may sound that way. Just saying...

Oops, they forgot the chrome.

As an engineering student i should appreciate it a lot more then just a screw. In the process of tearing my bike down i lost mine, you can pick on me all you want haha

I jacked one off a kz1000 before...all Jap bikes probably use the same or functionally similar one.  I can see dirt bike guys going through a lot of these.  I bet Emgo or Parts Unlimited have cheap universal replacements.

Those are choice: brass or aluminum. Not chrome. They will work fine, but that's why they are cheaper.

I've had the aluminum before. They dull in finish soon, and are softer.

Not wanting to start a heated debate MC but those adjusters seem to have more of a zinc type coating and not chrome as I have never noticed them being very shiney or peeling when they get old and they do have a tendency to just rust when they do get old and neglected.But they are steel.

Could be. The ones i have are definitely chrome. (maybe) But I'll be the first to admit its not very good chrome. Without some care, wipedown with Polish or WD, etc., they will rust.

So, I won't argue.

Available in all brass or annodized silver aluminum. No RUST!

Mine has been on for uhhhh..... more than 5 and less than 10 years, works OK and looks fine, like new. The original 30 year old, chrome plated one was rusted badly.

I should say this too: I just replaced my 40 yr old, OE clutch cable. I noticed a broken strand just behind the end. I'll be watching the new cable for similar problems but I don't think its from the adjuster, I think it's from 74000 miles worth of shifting.

I just put it up because the OP was looking for something less expensive.
