I checked with DSS and their reply was "We only sell the pipes in sets of four"
So that idea for a single pipe buy is out the window from DSS.... :-\

Well - as he's getting further in the repro world and branches out further from his 400/4 bread and butter - let DSS know that they need to make more #2 pipes.

Does anyone have the DSS or CMSNL reproduction 341's, and can comment on how they compare to the OEM ones?

Looking at the spot welds, I'm guessing they have 4 baffles... is that correct?  I thought the OEM 341's started with 3 baffles (and ended that way after a going all the way up to 5 baffles at one point.)

I just bought a K2 that needs them.

Thanks,
Chris

Yeah, I was leaning towards the $900 DSS repros.  Does anyone have them?... and how do you like them?

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Doum,  any pics you can share?  "almost perfect" - something your not happy with, or was that meant as they are very good quality....?

Would love to hear if anyone has bought any 750 pipes recently from DSS.  Expensive, but if they are high quality, then it wouldn't be so bad.

Anybody have an idea who makes these repos?

Almost perfect because they were not OEM :).But the pipe itself was perfect,no defect,I think the only difference I can say is the die used to stamp the HMcb350F,the character look a little bit different from original.I also bought the repro bracket, all hole line up perfectly.Sorry no picture I bought thoses pipe for a resto I did for a friend,I don't have the bike here.

DSS (England Site) has 'genuine" sets of HM300's in stock.  A tad pricey at 1695 pounds per set.

Also, they have "genuine" HM341's in stock for 1195 pounds.

This is from DSS's facebook page posted on 8/10/13:
"CB750K0/1 Exhaust set available soon. 10 sets of these beautifully made '300 type' exhausts are on their way to us from Japan. They have been copied meticulously from the originals, they will bear no markings like the first CB750 type produced and has the removable baffles. They can be used on the CB750K2-6 as well, but the baffle ends will be very slightly different ... These old style mufflers are difficult to make as everything has to be checked for alignment. Final price has not been calculated but around £1200 (+vat Eu customers)."

Ooh! I just don't care anymore. The price for shipping must be terrible. If any of my friends or some walked by and called me on 300s on my k-4 Ill buy them a few beers!

My Buddy from Houston just scored pipes #1 OEM from a lady that sold them on eBay for 80 bucks. These pipes had never been installed and were just "hanging" in the garage. Said her husband had passed away and he was going to use the pipes for a lawn mower project 20 years ago but never got around to it...LOL My Buddy asked her if the other 2 pipes were anywhere around, she said she would check! I swear if that lady finds the other two pipes and he gets the whole set for under 200 bucks I'll send a team of hit men over to his house jsut for the pipes... :o :o 8)

They are now selling single HM 300 OEM pipes, but seem to have only # 3 & 4.

"Only" $843 each......

someone needs to get their pipes scanned and see if we can get them from a laser printer 8)  I don't see why these can't be reproduced at 800 a set as opposed to 843 for one pipe.

What a ripper idea.
Sohc4 should rally together and get the hm300 and hm341's complete sets if each somehow scanned and 3d printed so then we could produce our own mufflers somehow and sell them through the sites store. Sell them for $800 thereabouts for a set.
Positives of it:
1. Assist members, rebuilds to stock.
2. Good revenue for sohc4 in the long run.
3. Keep the bikes original - independent parts making reliability.
Somewhere someone on this forum must have the ability, connections or resources  to scan and 3d print the exhausts sets of the hm300 and 341's.???
Would be great, would be really cool ay.

I do not see them being produced in the US for $800/set.  The chrome plating alone would cost that much.
However, there are K7-8 repops on eBay selling for $1000/set and are made in Japan.

Thanks Steve-0.....but 843 bucks a pipe is way outta my league, and 3,372 dollars for a complete set is more than I have $$$ wise in my whole bike!!! :P

With them being out of stock so many times at DSS and Honda always telling customers "no longer available" - wouldn't you think Honda would get back on the wagon to make more pipes and make some profit. Or is that demand that low?

You snooze you lose Johnie and that's what I did. I got my 750K6 in 2009 and my 750KO in 2011. Both HM300 and 341's could still be purchased from Honda. My KO still has the original stamped HM300's even though their patched up in several places. But for a everyday rider their fine. I'll run them as long as I can. But the K6 came with a Mac 4 to 1 and I got 3 decent 341's from another forum member thinking I could find the missing #2 pipe and make me a complete set. How wrong was I :( you have a better chance of winning the lottery than finding a good #2. You got a extra one laying around Johnie ;)
