Funny thing happened with my FZR600
« on: September 24, 2012, 03:57:51 PM »
I would hit the start button and all electrics died but no fuses blown, plus it's been running rich no matter what I did with the carbs.
Making a long story short one new terminal on my positive battery wire and remembering to install the new airfilter has made it into a new bike. Even riding it to the grocery store feels like I'm riding in the MotoGP. Fun Bike is back!!
Yes, I'm a dork, don't know how I forgot to install the new airfilter.

Do you mean you had an old dirty filter in it, or none at all?
If it's worth doing at all it's worth over-doing.

Yep dirty battery post will do that, smoke and fizzle but no fuses blown, plus one on the airfilter, I'm always amazed that new owners don't as a hard and fast rule replace the air filter as you never know the true age (full of crap) of the one in the bike, had a CB650 and it wouldn't accelerate at all, changed air filter and it pulled wheelstands! ;D
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

It had the old dirty filter. The worst part is that I got a new filter but forgot to install it  :o
