Identity Crisis ? - can you assist?
« on: July 01, 2006, 11:55:01 PM »
Can anyone help in letting me know what model these come from,

Picked them up in an ebay bid, collected them yesterday, with another complete set (different), and another 95% complete set.

I think they may be from an F2 but not sure??

thanks for the assist..

They look a lot like Cb550/550 carbs.  If so they will have a stamp on each carb body mount flange, top right.

TT,

thanks, I'll check them tomorrow, was told they were from a cb750.

the other two sets, one set is the same as what I have on my F1/K6 hybrid - but too greasy to check the stamping at the moment, the other 95% complete set are stamped 657B.

SO i probably have a bit of a lucky dip at the moment, a few more ice cream containers to go through yet- maybe some more surprises.

If the bores are 22mm, they are cb500/550 carbs.  And, the choke lever looks like 500/550 type.

If they are 28 mm bore, then they are 750.  But, I never saw a choke lever like that on a 750.

Will measure the bore tomorrow, and let you know.

IF they are 550 Carbs, will they also work on the 750 ??, or would they require lots of modification ?

thanks for the reply.. :)

Those appear to be identical to the carbs on my ex 75 CB550...  I should know. I had them off, on, apart about 50 times.

I agree with Bodain, those look exactly like the carbs on my
'73 CB500, the choke lever is a dead giveaway.
