Found a CL350 a few blocks away from my house
« on: September 26, 2012, 09:42:40 PM »
Saw it on craigslist and she wasn't asking too much for it.  Looked pretty good from the pictures.  Was a little late on catching it but she had posted it kind of late so I thought I still had a chance.  Called her up and went to look at it.  Nice bike, repainted but it was a decent job.  Exhaust almost immculate, just missing a shield.  No rust though, no dents, no scratches!  She told me it had been sitting a year.  No title either =/.  I bought it and took it back to my shop and swapped a battery from another bike.  She runs but she is a little grumpy.  Old gas, and no air filters on.  Probably should clean some jets at least but shouldn't be too much work!  She did give me the filters and I think at least one of the covers, other one might be missing, I'll have to double check.

Looks good. What are your plans?

Good score!  Looks intact enough to be worth restoring. Get a title for it.

Yeah, that exhaust is certainly the most valuable part on the bike.

I think I am going to just get it running good and ride it around for awhile.

Maybe someone can answer this question about the exhaust:  There is a bracket closer to the engine where it looks like an exhaust shield mounts.  When I looked online, I didn't see one with a sort of two part shield, so I'm not sure if one of the two shields is missing.  All the ones I've seen have one longer exhaust shield that runs the length of the pipes.  It's a '71 if that helps anyone.

That's for a pair of clamps that brace the headers.

I think it comes stock w/ the one piece heat sheild...,someone possibly added that other one to it temporarily.
