Topic: CB750 with new brake pads makes high whining noise!

Hi All

I have just replaced the front brake pads on my CB750 and also changed the brake fluids. The brake works fine, but it makes a very high whining noise every time I break. I have tried to brake a lot, and even tried driving with the front brake engaged to see if the noise would stop after some wear, but the noise is still there. What can I do to make the noise go away?

I just used the (google custom search). Just type front brake noise. Then look at the green part for (forums.SOHC4) That will be post from this site and there are a ton of them start reading. Hope this helps.

Couple of solutions to try....some high temp silicon grease behind the pads helps dampen down the vibration that is causing the noise. Some also cut a vertical groove in the middle of the pads. Personally I use the high temp silicone method and it works every time. Apply once a year or every 10,000 miles.
