I need all of your help on this!!
« on: September 29, 2012, 03:52:25 PM »
So I came across this in the woods. Weeds growing over it. So I thought it had potential.

I know it is a dual over head cam. But until I move over to that sight I am looking for your help. Especially since I worked on a single over head came already.

It has no cars, no tank, no seat, no side covers!!!!! And I can only assume what else.

I sprayed P.B. blaster over the plugs and in the chamber. Let it sit for a bit. I just want to get this to rotate.
So the oil is black, but not empty.

I am new to working on bikes and would like any advice/ help you have to get this thin to rotate. Let me know. ...

That's a SOHC 550K.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Well I guessed it was a dual over head cam cause there is no spot for the oil tank. To check the oil is from the crankcase.
On the 74 I had you would have to checked it from the oil tank. On this one you can see the battery sits more off to the side where the oil tank would have been. In comparison to the 74 I had where the battery sat directly behind the carbs, between the oil tank and electronics.

The 750 is dry sump, the rest of the fours are wet sump= no oil tank.
Instead of spraying your PB, fill the cylinders. If you do a search of the forum you will find some concoctions other members have used.

For some reason, those '76 light green guages seem to stay in good shape.

The front is good. You should see how the housing/ back of them are rusted.

Was green a common color on the gauges??

I may be wrong but I think only the 77 F's were blue. If you mean the chrome backs that doesn't matter, I have new ones.  :)

What is the best phrase to use on the search, etc.?

Frame & engine #'s rarely, if ever, match.

Do you have title? If no, your best bet would be to part it out. Prolly cost $2K to get roadworthy.
