My 750 K1 has only one fuse. That means a piddly little short circuit anywhere in the wiring will leave me with no drive and no lights. It's dark when I leave for work and the thought of winding up with a dark, dead bike in the middle of a three lane highway with cars whizzing past on both sides is working me up to a solid case of paranoia, to the point where it's ruining my commute.
I already have a relay wired directly to the battery to provide power for the coils and ignition, but the relay is activated from the kill switch, meaning if the fuse goes, so does power to the ignition. So I'm thinking of adding a relay/changing relay type so the relay stays on even if the fuse blows. That means key and kill switch on, power to ignition. Fuse blows (or key off) and kill switch on, still power to ignition. Key off and kill switch off, ignition loses power.
Any suggestions how I could do this?
