Benelli mojave tank

Anyone know what the little hole is in front of the gas cap on the mojave 260/360 tank? I want to put on on my honda, but I dont know what to do about the little hole or what it's for.

Not sure, All I know is that the two Viragos that Doc's Chops did that used the Benelli mojave tank,appeared to have
 it capped off.

Can you post a pic?  I've got one on my turbo Bonneville bike, and the hole I think you're referring to is used to bolt it to the frame on mine.

It's that little hole just in front of the gas cap...Just wondering if I need it there or if I can cap it/weld it/whatever.

Ya, that's just a mounting point on my tank.  It's yours to modify however you wish, but welding that up may hurt your resale value on that tank.
