Topic: cant seem to find a suitable fuel tank for my CB550F

ive been looking all over online through craigslist, ebay, and other sources for a suitable CB550F fuel tank... either the ones i find are completely rebuilt and insanely expensive, or theyre missing vital components, have dents, or are rusted through in some areas...

ive thought about going to a CB550K tank, which would require a matching seat (i also need a seat)... but kind of wanted to go with the supersport tank since i do have the supersport...

i wonder, are the CB500F and CB750F tanks a match for the 550F tanks?.. how different would a CB750 tank be from a CB550 tank?

About 4 inches longer different. Check with funjimmy, he may have a tank.

are you saying a CB750 tank is four inches longer than a CB550 tank, or that the CB550F tank is longer than a CB550K tank?... that wasnt very clear, and if a 750 tank is larger, how much more capacity does it have?

The cb500 tank is the same size

i have five cb tanks.. 1 green cb550 1975. and three cb500 1972-73's. all in pretty good condition. the 75 i have side covers for as well.  no dents clean inside.

No actually its not, as the OP said it would require getting a matching seat as well. The "F" or "supersport" tanks are larger and longer then the "K" bikes.
