bail gang shows a 500 one,if you have a 550 and the end of the drum looks like a star you need the type with two springs.
have a look at the arms with the larger roller,they have a different bend angle to them,the distance between the two rollers on each type is different,the large roller sits in a different position.

DOH!! Good catch Dave. I had a 500 that I had taken apart and wasn't paying attention to the box when I picked them out for the pic. However my point about making sure that collar is in correctly remains the same and just to clarify I didn't mix 500 trans parts in my 550, the 500 engine was still fully assembled when the 550 was apart so nothing got mixed, it was just a mistake of mine when I when I took the pic and I apologize for the confusion and as soon as I can find the correct pieces I'll take another pic so no one else gets the 2 confused.

just out of interest,heres an early 550 case,look where the arrow points compared to the 500 and later 550 cases,the 550 has two different gaskets available for the clutch cover.
