They just wrap around a regular cable, no flag or anything like that sticking out.

I bought me the seat in the second pic:

http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/hondaz/CB750SOHC1969-77.htm

I like it alot better in person actually. It's getting sent to be painted tomorrow. Should have it back in a day or two. I just got a petcock from proteal (THANKS!), so I need to start getting that ready for the tank I bought:

http://www.sohc4.us/forums/index.php?topic=10699.0

Having the seat painted black, and then gonna get some pinstripes on the tank to outline the knee inserts

prsman, i was just looking at some tanks like that recently. i thought it might work out well on a 750. i would like to get a good look at that in person, so you better get it done for the ride.

i've got two issues with the tank at the moment. The first would be how to fit the petcock. The second is that I have no history working with metal, (other than the variety that is heavy  ;) )

so...you really can't do saturday...?

are there any serious objections to sunday? anyone?

I went down to Venice tonight and then rode home as fast as possible! ha-ha what a rush - almost no cars on the road - it was great...

talked to one of the owners, jim - he said they are open til 7 on sundays and that it's a low-key crowd...
that sounds fine to me, we could hang out, have a beer and make fun of that know-nothing, HondaMan  ;D (kidding) ... I will actually be leading a worship service drawing on my childhood experiences being a preacher's kid - I will read some quotes from HM and then we will all drink a shot of 15 weight teflon fork oil and eat a front brake pad wafer.

who is cool with a sunday - that's the 30th...?

junkie out...

Yeah, born and raised in STL. I almost moved back there but somebody made me an offer I couldn't refuse and I got stuck in Seattle. My heart is still in STL and it'll always be home for me. Wish I could join you all. I was back home visiting my folks one time and I saw Stephan (Einyodeler) running the other way down 370. I recognized his bike from his avatar in the forum. Funny how you pick up on things.

prsman - I just did my bars last weekend. I unhooked all the wires from each other in the headlight bucket, then took the bucket off. Then I removed the handlebars completely and pulled\pushed the cables out that way. Pain in the ass.

It sounds like you already took the switches apart - if not, don't. If it ain't broke....I put my starter switch back together wrong and the starter ran whenever I turned the ignition key on. That and some other problems came up, but I finally got it all going right. It was a pain that took me over 10 hours from start to finish to starting again to finish. Luckily I had drag bars that were already drilled. Pulling the wires through them was dead simple because they are pretty straight and short. Hell, that was the easiest part.

I'll start it when I can get some quality time with the bike. Don't think that will be till fri or sun. Some dork boy I work with broke his foot so that means i have to pick up his gimpy slack... Hopefully I'll get a chance on friday. I'm armed with my radioshack cable markers, and an arsenal of beer, only one thing can stop me now. (the beer). Luckly I only took apart the clutch side switch, just for #$%*s and giggles.  Thinking about the new bars and pmpski's post, what to do with the wires when i'm done. Dare I drill holes for the wiring?

im in! I work soooo much better with deadlines. I started the tedious task of getting the wires marked today before work, it was so damned hot in the garage even at 10:30 a.m. almost done with that (didn't work too long), should have the bars done tomorrow, then i'll start putting the carbs, airbox on, pop the battery in try to close the hole in the exhaust and im in buisness!

Excellent!  ;D

No matter how good you are at following a map, finding Venice can be tricky - for all you out of towners here's the trick...

55 South from the downtown jumble of interstates (s*&%, if you find 55 S you're doing good...)
exit on Arsenal - make a right - there will be a gas station on your right -

at LEMP (there is a light) make a RIGHT

ride, um two blocks... and Venice is on your left, corner adjacent - Look for the giant fish and other insanity.

here's my number - 359.1460 - call if you run into trouble...

I'm gonna shoot for 5 pm - see y'all there...

okay - i just looked at the map GOOGLE puts up for Venice and it is wrong - on this map the "A" arrow is wrong - look at the shaded rectangle - that is Venice...

holy crap - i guess you weren't the only one injured - do you need any help?

come anyway if you can - drive the cage or whatever - doesn't really matter so much - we're just having a drink and hanging out - we will maybe talk about ride ideas, but there's no plans to do any hardcore riding Sunday...

Got mine all together & bought a Wrist Rest for the throttle. So I had to take her for a spin around the block this morning but somehow I ended up in Grafton ::) ;D

Parts.... waiting for parts. Need some hinges for the seat that are coming from DSS. I need to put the carbs/airbox on, and a tune up. Nothing major there, but I might need some help putting the wiring back together in the bucket. Two groups of wires fell out and I have no clue where they came from.  >:(
