Another Cam Recommendation Request
« on: February 06, 2013, 12:12:45 PM »
I'm looking for some help with choosing a new cam.  My bike is a 78 CB750K.  It has a full valve job with porting and a wiseco 836 kit installed.  I'll be running stock carbs with stock airbox and a Kerker 4-1 exhaust with a 1.5" baffle.  I don't want anything too extreme, as my bike is going to be more of a driver than a race bike.

If anybody has any recommendations/experiences, I would really appreciate it.

125-70 is the regrind version if a new one is not available.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

I have used an Action Fours SS-1 cam for some years. In the city as well as long distance touring.
I have really good experiences of this cam.  lift .360", duration 270. On the paper similar to Web cam 41. The engine got very good temperament.

Now I will use a hotter one when long distance riding is not actual. From Cycle X
CX-7    $199.00
Similar to the Mega Cycle 125-75 but with 3 more degrees of duration.

I plan on using the Megacycle 125-05 cam, which is a good all around power cam, originally a road race cam. Recomended by Hondaman to me. Moderate lift to help driveability. Megacycle has been in business since the 70's, I believe.
