Just wondering, roughly how much is it to ship a motorcycle overseas? Is there registration paperwork  that is a big hassle?

$750 one-way from US to UK/Europe. Ship by sea using roll-on-roll-off is cheapest option. No paperwork hassle - very easy  and can ride on a foreign plate for up to 1 yr.

I rode to France from the UK on my CB750F2 in 1996 - did Oxford to Paris overnight using the Chunnel and ended up at my French girlfriends place in Paris at 4 am. Rode around the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Elysees and the Peripherique is a lot of fun on a motorcycle. Then went to Mont St Michel, Normandy, Loire, before heading over to Alsace. Riding in France is really very good.

The rest of Europe is not bad either - in 2003 did a 3 week, 6000 mile tour on my CB750K4 of the other countries including the Alps (German, Austrian, Swiss, Italian) which are some of the best motorcycle roads in the world.

Have a great trip and take photos for the SOHC Calender!

cheers
Andy

Taking the 550K3 to France tomorrow for a few days with my brother on his ZX6R and my Uncle on his Triumph twin. Staying on the Somme and checking out the WW1 battlefields which should be good.

Weather forecast not good. Cool with rain a lot of the time....

My apologies if someone already asked, but do you know the cost of flying the $550 with you, I'm very curious.
I pray they don't lose "your luggage".

Had a brilliant trip. CB550K3 went perfectly. 480 miles in 3 days, 2nd day sometimes torrential rain or hail. Found the site where my grand-father's cousin was killed in one of the Somme battles in 1916 and saw his name on the memorial which was cool.

Only in France - stopped in a cafe in a little seaside town on the River Somme estuary to avoid hail stones, storm passed and go outside about 6.00PM Saturday night to find my brothers ZX6-R rear tyre flat. The girl in the cafe phones a garage. Within 5 minutes a transit van arrives and his bike is loaded in. Back to the garage where the hole is found in the centre of the tread (no nail or screw in it) and repaired with a plug within about 5 minutes.

No pressure lost for the remaining 2 days and 350 miles but now he's home he will have the tyre off and checked.

The guy really saved our lives. What would we have done without him? I really don't think you'd find someone like that on a Saturday evening in the UK.

While in France you should see if you can get one of the most rare and elusive photos in the world.  Try to get a picture of a French man that is facing you.  History tells us that most of them are always running the other way with their hands up.   :P

I wonder....with 1.35 million soldiers killed, 4.4 million wounded  in WWI.  In WWII they had 217,000 killed....as a percentage of the total population it was a higher rate than the U.S. suffered.  Along with 350,000 civilians killed.

I think your missing the joke.  It's just that, a joke.  The French resistance fighters were brave brave people.  They played a very important role in the war and we all know it.  Also this country would not have gained its independence if it were not for the French.

With that said I still think the Beret is gay.  :)

If you use this  ;D or this  ;) then we will know.

Now this guy thought it was a great place to hide out from the draft in the 60's ;D

How much does it cost just to ship a motorcycle to France??

Was Romney born with a suit on? Lol..lol
Who would ride a bike with a suit on?
Two guys on bikes with sits....Hmmmm
