Widest rear tire?

I'm wanting to go with a wider rear tire. I was wondering if anyone has tried a 150/80-16 on a '77 Hondamatic.

The widest I have seen is a 330 on a K1...

I am going to run a 160/60/18 on a 4.25 x18 rear rim, little bit of screwing around but doable... ;)

I've ran the IRC Durotour in size 130/80/18 on several different 750s. They didn't offer it in a 140 or 150 but I'm 100% sure the 140 will clear and fairly confident that a 150 will fit. Of coarse sans chain guard. I really liked that tire so I never bothered to try a different brand. Who Knows what others might fit? I mean really, "Who Knows?" :-)

P.S. I just looked and I have a CB750A with a 4.10x16 inch tire on it (aftermarket rim). It clears fine and has a 1/4 inch to spare at the chain so a 4.50 should clear and you might actually get a 4.60 on there?

As long as you are not trying to force them on stock sized rims they will fit...  You may need offset sprockets though...

Ha!  The same question I asked just after I joined in 2008, and the answer is still rim width & tire beads.
