Pops, I'm currently sitting at 3.18. Most of my racing will be 1/8th mile. I took off a lot of weight from the overall package and haven't made a complete 1/4 mile pass to see how its going to affect my gearing. Before making the changes to the bike I'd be in 5th before the traps, no shift light on at the crossing.

I lower the gears on my TURTLE last Sunday because a week before a bigger carb change made the TURTLE lay over and shut the motor off at 7000 rpm on shift light = to high of RPM'S BUILT INTO THIS BIKES SYSTEM.  This Sunday I  had a smile on my face coming back the return by going  father down the track in L and shift light not on in D  before the 1320' mark. 6 time trials later on the last pass my data logger said 18.41 so for fun I put that on my dial in plate = it ran 18.411 and the lady at the ticket boot said " THEY ARE ALL WATCHING "  Busa's,1400,1000, 750, 900 get ready because it took all this time to get this 28.6 HP 400CC HONDAMATIC RUNING PERFECT.

I've always tried to get the gearing on this bike where it launches hard and pulls steady past the 330' (1/8th mile racing) so i could make as much distance between myself and the faster bikes waiting at the tree. Like you, most of those cats have to sit at the line waiting to leave and either get anxious and redlight because i'm so far down the track, or they misjudge how fast they're coming up on me at the stripe and break out.

I need to redo my gearing calculations, i forgot that shorter 17" tire will increase the ratio.

FRANK:  I do not do a burn out and I line up on the far outside of the lane as they will not be trying to run me down right beside me [ like in a foot race if your side by side you know where you are ] on the 1/8 mile end of year races I put on my extra wheel with a lower gear and run one L [11.44 et. ] gear only LIKE THE Harley one gear class = they be Shifting and looking far to the left or right = cheating the game = RIGHT. my bad ,bull#$%*

Well gents, looks like I need to pull the motor back off the chassis. Went to a race today and it would not shift right. Jumped out of gear a few times or wouldn't shift at all. I'm pulling the undercut tranny out and putting a stick one in with more shifts forks and may be even another drum and shift pawls. One way or another she'll be ready for the Cup race in November.

Have this friend on a  [ GS SUZUKI ] at my track I have been helping and talking this past weekend at the track he has a machinist  that can make a slider for any bike different then the ones Tony Lang built [ MSP had the first GSXR 1000 Tony made ]  love those sliders just like a HONDAMATIC no clutch lever.

Can anyone tell me if those petcock adapters for the f model tanks are available still. I think Frank had a connection on those being made.

Frank if you need, I have a dual 5/16" outlet Pingle cock. It's 22mm with the same size adaptor nut so doubt it fits your F but if they make an adaptor to work so much the better.

Want a petcock with high flow and duel outlets. Just need an adapter so I can use a Pingel petcock. My flatslides have 2 feed lines.

Jerry, if I can't get the adapter, I might follow the lead you posted. I've got a slight leak on mine and it needs to be replaced one way or the other.
