Bill, glad to see someone is being successful at this point. Hard to accept it but I'm running out of patience, just about burned out one this bike. Got to allot time for maintenance on the other bikes we plan to race down there and this one has taken up more than its share. I do have the engine out but after doing yard chores all day and then messing with the donor motor, I've run out of strength to lift mine onto the work bench. I've got to quit for the night and get some rest. Freakin back is hurting now. Will get someone to help me get it on the table tomorrow.

hHope ya'll don't hold it against me if all I've got is Kaw's in my trailer this weekend.

Didn't make it to test and tune tonight. I left work a bit early to tie up the loose ends on the bike but got to feeling like crap for some reason. Laid down for a while. I guess my body is trying to tell me something so I'm not going to ignore it. Going back to the shop now to finish the Honda. Will have to test during first time run Friday afternoon. Just hoping these finals changes are at least good enough to allow the bike to shift even if it means extended kill time between gears. It'll be a loss of ET but I'm not trying to set records. It bracket racing, I just want to be consistent and win rounds.

 My bike is off the stands, pushed to the corner of the shop so i could make room to work on the wifes dragbike and my 8.88 index Kaw. Spent so much time on this bike, it doesn't leave much for the others to be thoroughly checked over. Since both of the Kaws are much quicker than the Honda, i've got to make sure they are good to go before we make any passes down the 1320.

The Honda was started, has no leaks that i could see. I did install the electronic kill on the bike and tested it out. Seems to kill okay on the stand but under a load is another matter. Also had to install a functional headlight set up on the bike. Rules say a taillight and head light in Street ET. They can be aftermarket so i bought a pair of LEd fog lights and installed them on a plate behind the grill opening in my front fairing. I had previously installed an LED taillight so now, i meet the letter of the Law. I don't intend to cut the lights on unless challenged to do so to prove i'm legal. 

Wish Team Sam Green luck everyone. Our team is falling apart via attrition but not due to lack of effort. Bottom line, there will be SOHC bikes at the Man Cup race.

Well, the good news is the bike shifted every gear going down the track this time. Hot dog!!! Bad news, the run sucked right off the line when it blew the tire away. Crappy 60 foot that netted a terrible ET. Track started to go away once the sun went down and the temperature dropped. Only ran an 11.38 but tomorrow is a new day and the bike shifts now. Happy

Cold weather this weekend is wreaking havoc on my carbs tuning. Its running lean and I have no jets so its not coming close to running my typical quarter mile ET. But....since we're bracket racing, no problem.

Scottly, sorry I just checked the site again.  Hopefully you caught some of the racing. I went out first round to a red light start. I bought back in and won 2nd round. I lost 3rd round due to a brain fade when left the petcock off and ran out of fuel not far from the starting line ending my race day. Not going to cry about it because the bike shifted perfectly every pass.

The wife did race today in Pro ET. She lost first round. Something was going on with the bike. I changed the main power switch and might try to run it myself tomorrow  so I can check it out.

Eliminations tomorrow in both the index classes I'm in.  Crazy 8's and street fighter, running them on my Kaw.  Might run street ET again on the Honda. So maybe 4 classes for me.

I decided not to race the Honda in street ET sunday. After i pulled the bike out of the trailer, the wife asked me why my shiny new chrome sidewinder was a funny gold color up near the head. Well, apparently i didn't notice this during the racing on saturday night. Obviuosly this indicated a seriously lean condition. Because i didn't have any jets on hand, i decided to err on the side of caution and park the bike until i can look it over. I knew the bike was way off the its regular ET but i never experience issues with lean mixture on these carbs before. Now i know why all my numbers were off by from 1.5 to 3 tenths from one end of the track to the other. So now that this race is over, i'll do my winter maintenance and be ready for next season. Happy it now shifts. ET's to be lowered later.

Went out first round in the the index classes. Redlight start in streetfighter(9.50 index). Left before the tree activated. Came back around to the pits and put air in the shifter- they had already called Crazy 8's (8.88 index) to the lanes and i was not there . Had to take a minute to bring the nitrous bottle pressure up because i have to spray the bike to run the index in this class. Made it up to the line and got paired up. I was the 3rd pair out. Bike left good but didn't start to pull hard in 2nd, i knew then i had an issue as i saw the other rider begin to fade pull away from me and take the win light. Only mustered a 9.58 or so on that pass. I remembered that i had not put my settings back into my nitrous controller for this class as i turn them off for the 9.50 index. Needless to say, i won't try doing both of those classes again on the same bike. All and all, it was a n okay weekend in spite of the cold weather on friday and saturday.

FRANK:   You should have told me you needed jets = I had my jet kits [ with sets of 4-8 ] and my jet drills  [ 42 size 81-40 ]  in my truck...... never go to a race with out these little brass things that tune the carbs, since 1991.

I know a guy who lives right outside Denver,im pretty sure he has an old set of those numbered drills,says he used them alot to adjust nitrous jets..ha ha
