Way to go Doc, about time.  Not sure why I didn't do it before for you.   I guess I never thought I could.  Left it up to the long-timers I suppose.  Good luck, it is a winner either way.

Thanks, Jack.....and I couldn't have put the finishing touches on it without those brackets from your project bike.

Wow! When i saw that i was recommended by a fellow enthusiast i was blown away!
This project has been two years running after i received it from a buddy at my local watering hole.  He said, "you like them old jap bikes huh? well i got an old one sitting in my pole barn i won in a poker game 20 years ago, you want it? its got the keys and title."  of course i replied a few expletives and a "YES!", then i paid his 45$ bar tab and the work began :)
I couldnt just take a few pics in the garage so i took it out to the park.
Thanks Greggo for the nomination, i would like to be top choice win for bike of the month but even being recommended as a nominee is a win of itself! thanks and enjoy the pictures.- Donald

Not that d3buttz's bike isn't killer and totally deserving, but we have to have some competition.  ;D  I figure that only an equally deserving bike will do, how about...

I nominate Joe1028's killer Candy-Wineberry Cafe:

That one is very nice.  I like the dog bone dummy light bar ;D I'll go ahead and second it for the sake of time.  I think he needs to accept before voting starts on Monday :o

Looked at the rules for BOTM nominees, and this should not disqualifie your bike ;D

I thought a bike had to be running to be nominated for BOTM?

Yea, it is one of those unwritten rules.  I guess one would expect that to be understood and not need to be written.  :)

Maybe someone should add it.  :P

What's the consensus on the Tin Lizzy?  Are we letting her in?  The crowd okay with that?

CoachDoc, we'd love to see more pics!

That looks like a later model FZ6 set of forks as they had a bridged set of forks top triple tree clamps with those towers clamping the handlebars. '07 or '08 or maybe even later FZ6 Fazer top triple design.

Of course we'll let Tin Lizzie in, it's the most original CB750 "Customs" that we've seen in years, everything else is just a variation of the tried and true (and slightly boring) "Cafe Racer" theme. I wish I could vote twice, if I could, I'd vote for the "Model T" twice! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

No sorry but not really ok with that. I think Tin Lizzy is a great looking bike but its not finished. When it is finished nominate it again. Easy enough, no? For a bike to be in BOTM it should be running and on the road. We have covered this before and I thought it was in the BOTM rules - if not then I think it should be. Otherwise where do you draw the line?

cheers
Andy

No offence to Andy, but we've all seen CB750 carbs, so we know what they look like, so what difference does it make if they're mounted on the bike in the pics or not? If the bike is finished, but the carbs are off it when the pics were taken, does it then not qualify?

When 3 of my bikes were nominated for BOTM, nobody asked me if they actually ran, (they did) and I know for a fact that several nominees had massive problems with their bikes, and they ran like crap, necessitating rebuilds shortly after they were nominated, or actually won.

Unless the rules are changed calling for a Youtube video of the nominated bike running, so we can all listen to it and decide whether it's actually "finished", then Tin Lizzie should stay. Let's not forget, this aint the Olympics......... Cheers, Terry. ;D

BOTM rule#8 states that: The motorcycle must be at some sort of completed stage. I guess it depends on how completed stage is interpreted here. People are going to have different opinions about this as already seen here.
I think this rule needs to be re-worded a bit because it's to fague and leaves alot area open for disagreements. IMO the Tin Lizzie bike with out question falls into the (some sort of completed stage) and should be able to be nominated.

No offense taken at all Terry. But its kind of like saying we have all seen wheels before and why do they need to be on there? I have attended a lot of bike shows where there is a requirement for the bike to be a runner rather just a garage queen or concept bike. I mean the point of BOTM is usually because you like how it looks and could imagine yourself riding it. It not called Inspiration BOTM where it wouldn't really matter if it ran or not. I also like the Barber Motorcycle Museum for that same reason that every bike on exhibit does actually run.

Like I said before if we dont require a build to be finished and running then what do we end up nominating? An inspiring almost finished/half-finished build? In previous BOTM the assumption has been that the bike is a runner. When it hasnt been, there has been similar discussions on inclusion and usually its pulled until its finished (then gets re-nominated).

If the bike in question (Tin Lizzie) is actually finished and just needs carbs put on, then take the 10 mins to do that and get it in BOTM. Easy enough no?

cheers
Andy

If I may, I posted pictures of my bike to bragg a little. I'm honerd that it was nominated. I did mention that it is almost completed. Since the pics were posted the carbs have been put on but to be honest it is still a work in progress. I still need: Dyna S ignition and brake parts (pistons, pads and brake lines). That is my final list. I would like to like to thank everyone but lets just drop my bike and I'll repost when bike is completed. Hope I'm not out of line for this request.
