cb550 clutch cable problems
« on: October 17, 2012, 04:57:54 PM »
hello, ive been struggling with the clutch cable not sliding properly. i cant pull the clutch in to engage a gear and have it snap back like it used to. i drained the oil about 6 weeks ago when i took the motor out of the frame and i just refilled it 3 days ago. ive read several old threads but i still cant get it working and im getting pretty frustrated.  i have the cable off the bike now and i cant slide the cable by hand. is this cable no longer good?

If you can't slide the inner cable by hand....you have your answer. The inner cable should slide very smoothly. Buy a new Honda cable, they're the best quality available.
