clutch disc question- which style?
« on: October 18, 2012, 12:10:06 PM »
I bought a clutch disc set for my FO motor from Cycle X, which includes the extra friction plate( so there are 8, instead of 7). I have 2 questions. 1st-the clutch hub doesn't look deep enough to add another 2 plates(steel and friction). Do I need a particular year of hub to make this work? Has anyone used this type of setup? The extra disc is supposed to make the clutch smoother, or so I read somewhere on this forum.  2nd-these disc's have spiral cut grooves in them, the original/stock disc's were squarecut. Hondaman's book says these type (spiral) will slip in a 750 engine. Anyone else have problem's running this type, or should I buy another set (square cut)? I am building an 836 motor.
