I put in a new flasher unit and everything works! The starter solenoid finally fired too, but the starter motor couldn't put power to the crank. I pulled off the alternator cover and found the rotor bolt was loose. I tightened it up and now just need oil and gas...and maybe a carb cleaning. Stay tuned!

Hey Camelman. Good your being able to put some time in on the KO. Hadn't heard much about it since you got it back in May, wasn't sure if you still had it Glad you still do Keep us up to date on it with info and pics.

Yeah, life kinda gets in the way.  I'm finally settled into a different workshop back in San Francisco, so I can work on it more easily now.  I'm looking forward to starting it next week/end.  I might be getting ahead of myself though.  I haven't checked the carbs or airbox yet.

So, I figure the loose alternator rotor bolt is the reason this bike was parked.  Easy fixes so far, although I still haven't started it yet.  Pics will follow, especially after I start it and get it washed!

I got caught reading page 1 somehow, so my comment after seeing all the excitement is ...

 You guys must be great actors, or have one heckuva cork system.

How the sellers don't detect the absolute glee going on within when you're there to buy is beyond me. 

 Not ever sitting at the card table across from any of you.

So, I found a gold K0 in the city sitting outside and rusting away.  The 4-4 still looks good and it is at least a single cut front fender.  I found out who owns it, but he supposedly doesn't want to sell.  I think I'll give it a try anyway.  I doubt I'll get it, but has anyone else run across this kind of situation... someone who would rather let their property rot than sell it and get it off their hands?  If so, then please share your story.

FYI, I got my lien sale paperwork back on all three of my unregistered bikes.  Two have $640 in back taxes, but the 750 is clean!  I was just offered an essentially free 400f, so I think I'm going to use it as my cafe build rather than the 350f I was building up since the 350f has $640 in back fees!!!  REgardless, the lien process was easy and only cost me $50 per bike.  What's more, the inspector came to my garage and inspected the bikes.  I think I'll be using this service again.

I've got no idea what all that Lien stuff is about, but I work with civil servants and they're all Lie-n sacks of schidt, so I know your pain.......

20-odd years ago, I went out to a guys farm with a couple of friends. One of my friends was told that this farmer was giving away a Ford "Single Spinner" ute. (pick up truck) The farmer had bought it new in the 1950's, but had cipped 2nd gear, so parked it.

The original paint was still good under the 40 years of dirt and dust, it was solid, with no rust-throughs. It still had the original books in the glovebox. All the badges were there, the little V8 looked great, the oil was clean, and even the upholstery was good! My mate said "yep, I'll take it!" But the farmer said, "no, I'm gonna cut the back off it to make a trailer, I just wanted to know if you wanted the rest of it?"

We were all flabbergasted. My mate said, "don't cut it up, if you want a trailer, I'll go buy you a new one!" But the farmer was adament, and a few weeks later we saw him towing his newly built trailer (which looked like schidt) with a few bales of hay in it. What a dick............

I left a note on that bike...no response.  He keeps registering it, so maybe he thinks he'll restore it someday...

Back on topic, I put gas in the 750, as well as some oil, hit the starter button and Vroom!  Unbelievable!!

Greggo, that's the one.  It looks even worse in the daylight though. Am I imagining things, or is the #4 sparkplug missing? 

Dhall, I was so stoked to hear that engine fire up.  It literally started on the first crank.  Whoever had it before me had drained the fuel, so I didn't even mess with the carbs.  The bike idles and revs great too.    Now to get it out of the shipping container and onto the ground to actually ride it around.

Thanks for the pic Camelman. People get me though, why would somebody just abandon a bike like this and leave it to rot out in the elements like that. Makes me mad and sad at the same time. Who ever the owner is, dang man its plain to see you aren't going to do anything with it. Sell it or if nothing else give it to Camelman so he can bring this KO back to life and its glory.
