Just how good are our Gauge faces?

I just recieved a nasty gram from Autometer. The makers of the Pro Comp Autometer gauges we all know. I say send him a little email and let him know what you think of a huge global company whinning and compaining to get and keep all thier greedy money.

Here is the letter they sent me.

I am contacting you on behalf of Auto Meter’s IP Infringement Program. We need you to correct your title immediately as you are violating eBay’s VERO policy by spamming our name as product description for a product-LIKE AUTOMETER.

By including LIKE AUTOMETER in your title (or any other brand name of which the product is not) you mislead the search engine to showing results for products that are not of which the auction is intended for and as in this case, clearly it is not Auto Meter. This falsification is under violation of VERO and if not corrected immediately will be submitted to VERO for removal and as a result may give you a negative review.

Correct all auction infractions if they exist.

Shall you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me via the information below. Please also visit eBay’s VERO policy page for information.

Thank you in advance for your prompt action.

I did call this fool after I changed up the name. I said "We do not even make the same product". He said  "That is where the confusion comes in". I told him the confusion is all his. I told him to piss off and hung up on him.

First they did not like the "looks like" statement in my eBay auction. Well this is not completely true. As a matter of fact the gauge lettering is sharper and more accurate on ours. They did not like that my gauge faces came up with thier gauges in the eBay search.

No Fear. We have over 1,000 man hours of R&D and drawing these. The intellectual property is sole property of Anubis Cycle LLC. They can buy out the products and files for $2 mil and the rights to produce them for another 2 mil.  ;D I designed them, developed them, and cracked the market wide open. When you look at the whole deal WE the forum refined them and did the R&D on these damn things.

I can handle getting flithy rich from a lawsuit involving them. Maybe we can see how many people we can fit in a cigarette boat  ;) ;D Might be a chance to horde a few hundred sandcast Hondas  ;D

just change "LIKE AUTOMETER" to "MUCH MUCH BETTER THAN AUTOMETER"  that should solve this zero's VERO issues.  besides the fact that every generic product has somewhere on it the words "compare to _____ <---insert proper brand name"  so this has got to be som eTimidation.

I totally follow this.... Just look at House brand stuff at Wal-Mart in the Hair supplies next time. This stuff is prevalent EVERYWHERE! I figured if Sauve could say like "Nexxus" then I could. The my product is "LIKE" is no big deal. Comparable to "......"?? I think the big money earnings are so low that companies are dying to sue someone. However suing me would be like suing a Port a Potty at a rally because it stunk. You get about the same thing from it. ;) ;D :D

make sure you have nice hi-res photos up so people can really see the detail...

How hard are they to install? I noticed they were listed for a K5 is that they only ones they will work one? (probably a stupid question)They look great. I never cared for those ugly ass stock gauges.

Not a dumb question really. These should be ok for K3-K6. They are not all that hard to install. They do take a little to get them installed though. Not anything more than craft skills really. If you have built model cars you can install these.

Tell that SOB that you consider their's to be a generic of yours and a poorly made generic at that. How about  " somewhat similiar to Auto Meter but of much better quality. Compare then you be the one to decide".

you gotta send them a full 1 hour stream of your YAMAHA CARB CARE video - you know the one in the driveway - I think they will back off then... or at least apologise for the wrongful emailing of some bull#$%* to you, just designed to upset your apple cart.

I live in hope you will make mega dollars from your investment of R & D, and maybe suing their asses, and then give every member of SOHC a free set of stickers...

While your answering dumb questions, Tom, I've been meaning to ask.  Do you plan to offer the Due Souths for the F models?  They'd look damn trick on my F2.... ;D

I guess I have to look at the F2 gauges. I think our due souths would work on the F2. There maybe an issue of teh redline, maybe maybe not. Hammer me off an email with pics attached and I will make sure these will work for you.

The video would only traumatize the panzies. I would problably get a law suit for chairs and suit pants that were messed up when they pissed thier pants in fear.

Free stickers? Aren't things like a mug or T-shirt so much better? #$%* if I could get rich off these fools I would buy a speedo retainer ring machine, and everyone on the forum would get free gauge faces.

I just made my own like two years ago. Still holding up like the day I put them on.

Mine are done on 30 year calendar vinyl. They will not fade, nor will they freak out and fade. This is better material than most of the commercial signs you see on marquees and vehicles. They are UV protected so the red is still red on 5 years and not pink.

Damn I just used crappy ol' stuff for making aircraft exerior placards and decals.

They aren't too good at holding up to sleet at 500 mph. You know after a couple times..... ;D

Some junky ol' 3M stuff I liberated from work ya know.

Because I can't afford the fight as a defense I have bent to thier liking. However it still makes me "above the radar" now. Working on coming up with my own product line name. This will alieviate all association with them in anyway.
