Don Vesco 750 Supersport
« on: September 28, 2012, 06:18:27 PM »
Today I installed a Don Vesco RABID TRANSIT fairing on my 750 Supersport. Fits the bike perfect. I'm beginning to like the direction this is going...

It looks pretty good on the F. Is it heavy?

Good question. I'd like to know too. I've got a nice Hannigan fairing on my R100, but it is heavy.

Bike actually is FASTER, has more top-end speed and stable high-speed handling due to vastly improved aerodynamics. Vesco knew his stuff when it came to designing fairings. BTW, the fairing weighs about the same as the savings the bike got from switching to an Action 4's exhaust.
Its the 3rd different motorcycle I've had a Vesco on, put 100,000 miles flying them back in the 1980's. Excellent wind and weather protection, made for sport-touring.

That stainless system is quite nice now you mention it.

Action 4's made hi-performance engine goodies and headers for sohc4's and Z1's back in the 70's. I was right in the thick of it w/ motorcycles in that era, my first big bike was a 500/4 , and the header I modified it with was an Action 4's pipe. Now I'm into CB750's (just a little bit) and I actually searched and found this rare pipe on ebay last year. It was rusty and so I had it ceramic coated in a polished aluminum finish, and added a universal Supertrapp muffler. Its the only CB750 I've ever seen w/ an Action 4 pipe. I've seen 3 of these pipes on CB500's.

Cycle Magazine article made me want that pipe SO BAD...

Mission accomplished! My 500/4 in 1977

I love that Vesco fairing. I hope to find one I can afford some day. Looks #$%*in. I read they fit a windjammer bracket.

The only fairings that I ever liked were the really small ones that just surrounded the headlight with a small windscreen to break up the wind buffeting you, but I have to admit that is one nice looking fairing you have there. I like the way it sticks close to the bike itself.

I was working at the Honda dealership when the 750's came out and it seemed like everyone wanted the Windjammers back then. I always thought they were not very good looking on the bikes, seemed to make the bike bulky looking.

That's a great looking fairing, it sure suits an old Honda. Looks like it was meant to be there, you just be stoked! I know I would be, haha.

Looks great 736!  How much steering travel did you lose?  I've logged quite a few miles behind mine.

I like faired bikes with hard saddlebags.  I think it balances them out.
