Have two 750's had them 6-7 years. no titles no bills sale nothing. Ive called every state with the vins no one can find them.  cant do assembled from parts titles without mos on engine etc. two running bikes no way to title or anything.  So much for getting these together for me and pops before he kicks the bucket. Do i have any options? or just part them out? one is a 77 not sure on the other vin is cb750-2011639

I don't know how it is in Florida, but in California I believe you can do a "found vehicle" lien- basically, if it's a vehicle that's not stolen and you can't find the owner, you can put a lien on it. After six months, you offer it for sale and sell it to yourself for a dollar. Boom, titled.

dont know anyone out of state and titling company wont touch it because im not able to get a letter for the vin saying its not stolen

The key to title at least in Colorado is to have a Bill of Sale notarized that is less than one year old. Because of the age of these bikes in Colorado this would be titles as an In-Lieu Bond title. Perfectly leagal and transferable. And to best best of my knowledge no one can claim the bike to be theirs.

Now if some one knew for sure the bike was not hot and had a really good friend that was willing to write up a bill of sale, one might be able to get a title. But there is risk there for both parties.

I think the best you can do is start parting them out. just let your dad (pops) down gently.

This is what you need to do.
Go to your DMV and ask to talk to a supervisor.
Don't act ANGRY or you will get nothing.
Bring all of your papers if you have any.
The frames have numbers and the bikes are probably no longer in the system. California only keeps records on vehicles for 10 years.
IF you can bring the bikes on a trailer it helps.

Just re register them As historic vehicles.
There is always a way to do it.
You just need to get to the right person.
Do not destroy or dismantle the bikes.
You can always do a lein sale.
Just set the price high enough no one would respond.

If a well known movie star owned those bikes do you think he or she could get them titled?

been all the way up only option was assembled from parts title but i cant because i have no mos on the the major componets. its a really small town here

You've probably already tried this but isn't there any way your local police can check the vin and determine if either of the bikes are stolen?

try a antique title or vintage or classic or what ever your state has for older vehicles. here in Kansas it's a antique and it has to be at least 35 yrs or older.i don't have to have a title but it has to be inspected.and all they do is run the Vin.if every thing is good wa la you have a title.but some states limit the mileage you can put on your vehicle like Missouri you can only have 2,500 miles a year  i believe. Kansas it's unlimited. I'd try that before going through a titling company. they can be very expensive.

I have a couple vehicles that i got around the no title issue.   Mine aren't hot but rather look for a long lost owner who probably dont have the title anyway I improvised with simalar vehicles and vin tags.

well i reckon i know what my plan is. Thanks to a member here i am now taken care of on one bike, will part the other out. And gotta see if i can get Mreich for a block for the spare motor 76mm with a 2mm stroked cb900 crank. And put the turbo off my old gsxr on it should be a beast of a cafe

Are you getting the number from the engine, or from the left side of the steering neck on the frame? (They are different) The letter designation may have been something that was done on the later models though and maybe not on the earlier models?

wont touch it without a title, ill drive this f,in bike through there front door. Cant prove i own it because no title, but its not stolen because you cant find the vin.
