The Coachbuilt 590 Honda Four - Similar Tank & Seat?
« on: October 26, 2012, 05:12:00 PM »
Hi guys,

So I stumbled upon the CB550 section on the SOHC4.net main site and came across this bike/article in Cylce:

You can read/see the rest here.

It's a fantastic looking bike. I think there's a page missing from the story but it does mention that the tank and seat were hand made by someone named Page. They look incredible and I'm in love with the paint scheme.

Does anyone know if a similar tank and seat have been made? Of course the tank has a bit of Norten/Manx/Ducati-esque to it, but it's somehow different. The seat is flat tracker-ish with some cafe racer in it.

I'd love to get something similar for my CB400F.

Rick.

Talk to Sean at Roc City. He makes an couple alloy tanks similar to this and the Dunstall seat as well. If you want to add knee dents to it, I'm sure he will do it. His prices are really very reasonable considering what you end up with. Just be ready to wait about 4 months.

The seat personally reminds me of a cb750f stock seat with shaved foam.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I'm sorry if this bike has been talked about before, I did a search for 'coachbuilt 590' and nothing came up.

I've seen Sean from Roc City's work before. Well at least I'm aware of it rather. I'd love to find a good fabricator to work with.

OUCH! Did you have to repair the cowl or the tank?

Had to repair the cowl. take off all the powdercoat reweld it an repowdercoat it. Another thing he needs to figure out a better mounting system for the rear of his tank, He send a couple of rubber gromets.
