New from Greece
« on: October 27, 2012, 11:50:09 AM »
Hey all, new guy from Greece. Just got my first bike last July. It's a 1976 cb400four in quite good shape. Started messing arround with her a bit already but it's my only ride and i use it everyday, so i ride more than i work on her at the moment.

Congrats on a great forum with so much information and so many active people. I know that when winter kicks in and i start working on the bike i'll get a lot of info here. Already scooped arround a lot

Will take some photos soon and post them

Andreas

Welcome from NY, we like pictures here.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

So here are some photos as promised.

Cloudy day and sucky phone camera but that was the best i could do at the moment

Left side

Right side

some more angles

Cracked handlebar

Muffler/passenger footrests

Things that need immediate changing are kinda obvious.. muffler, passenger footrests which where moved by prior owner to the most awful diy i have ever seen on a bike and handlebar/mirrors

Looks like it will need some engine work too, makes clicking noises and the kickstarter is not working, that's why it's not installed

Was the cb400f ever sold in Greece or did you import it?  Great bike!

Looks like you have some work to do, but it looks like it could clean up really well.

This one was imported on 1991, i can tell that from the paperwork. One Greek owner since then till i got my hands on it. I am not sure if they were ever officially imported, but there are not a lot laying around i can tell you that

Needs a lot of work but i am eager to start. I think i'll go for something like "reversible custom" since it's hard to find oem parts and i am missing a few. Might try something in the brat/cafe side while keeping the scenario of the "factory rebuild" alive

Engine/mechanical is a priority anyway

I have had some experience with restoring things but they never had so many moving parts hehe. Hope this turns out to be the start of a new passion
