Nothing really has happened here in Honolulu.  Waikiki and other coastal areas urged people to evacuate.  All businesses closed early and asked for it's employees to go home to their families or to safer areas.  Of course, you always got those people who will hang out at the beach waiting for the waves.  Crazy traffic when everyone was trying to get home. =p.

I was in Waikiki during the Japanese quake tsunami. The sirens are eery.

We had a watch here in the Puget Sound region but Vancouver Isle and the gulf islands are kind of a buffer between us and Queen Charlotte where the quake was centered. Don't think it even registered here. I'm at 267 feet elevation at my house so I didn't lose any sleep.

Was in Tahsis a couple of years ago or so and spotted sign that said if you suspect an earth quake or hear the siren head to higher ground, now I hadn't been back to the coast for 40+ years did a quiet twitch about that, then thought about it, and it did make sense, does take a lot of fun out it though. A lot of places along the coast that could disappear if the wave came towards them instead of a way.
