turn signal problems on 72 cb750
« on: October 28, 2012, 04:14:14 PM »
i have a 72 cb750 that i have been working on.  i put a new harness in and when hooked up my turn signals they only work when the bike is in neutral. so whenever the bike is in gear the turn signals dont work.
any ideas on why this is going on?
thanks

I would guess that for some reason the blinkers are being powered by the neutral light. Does the neutral light come on? If not, you may have crossed some wires when hooking up your new harness.
It's almost twice as old as me, I don't know how the hell it works!

The neutral light come on when it is grounded thru the neutral safety switch.  I would trace the grounds from the harness to the electronics area under the LH cover where the NSS and the turn signal blinker are in close proximity.    a circuit diagram is available on this website.
