Are Henry Abe's REALLY worth this much?!
« on: October 31, 2012, 11:24:20 AM »
Is this a "normal" price for a set of Henry Abe wheels?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/110968908624?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

...and to think, I have a set on the shelf in my garage.  :o

The price shot up $1200 in a day...I've heard lots of sets of CB750 mags end up going to Japan..

Do you have the 18" rear?  Drum or disc?

18" rear drum, single disc front.

Mine were on a 550, but aren't they interchangeable? I've actually cleaned them up a bit and soda blasted them since these pics were taken.

They'll work on a 750 if you have the right spacers, and sprocket.

Seems kinda scam-y that a guy with zero feedback is selling something at a wildly inflated price. But bid with confidence because he has a friend who has been using eBay for 17 years, which happens to almost be the exact day that eBay was founded (Sept 15, 2005). Buyer beware.

Yea, I was looking at the 0 sales as well.  No way I would commit that much on a seller with zero feedback.

Was not more than 2 years ago that some Henry Abe wheels were listed for $1200(as I remember), brand new in the boxes. They were the 19 and 18 inch sizes.  Likely more valuable than the 19 and 16 inch ones I have.
The right person will buy, if they really want them.

Yup, 19" fronts are fairly common maybe worth only a couple hundred bucks if that. Apparently the 18" rears weren't a big seller back in the day so they usually go for a premium now on e-blow. Bidding is at $1800 now with 20 guy bidding...Yeah 0 feedback, no f*ckin way I would hand my hard earned money to that guy.

PayPal insures your money, so there's not much risk anymore.  Worst case scenario is that you never get your goods and you wait a couple weeks to get your money back.

Remember , Value and Worth don't always equal each other. I'd guess in this case, the guy/girl that won the bid thought they were WORTH 1820$. I SURE would not be dealing with a 0 history on the BAY. You  ( PURCHASER) have a 90 DAY window to dispute a transaction and usually the BAY  will take up to 90 days BEFORE the BAY will start the mediation and they usually side with the seller.By the time is over it could take 3-4 MONTHS before you see your cash back.
BEEN THERE-DONE THAT!!!
