New Zealand - Must see, Must do?
« on: November 04, 2012, 11:08:21 AM »
Yippee, we're spending Christmas in New Zealand & New Years in Sydney this year.
This is the biggest vacation we've planned and we don't want to miss a thing, but realize that's an impossibility, so I'm fishing for the "Must do, Must see" list of favs.

If I had my druthers, I'd spend most of my vacation in Marlborough at 8 Wired Brewing ( my new favorite brewery) but that might be considered selfish., and we will be traveling with our 14 yr old son & 9 yr old daughter, so kid friendly suggestions are appreciated.

We arrive in Auckland Dec. 10th then fly to Dunedin on the south island Dec. 16th.  through to Dec. 28th.

Looking forward to  it

Cheers
Jimmy

You'll have a ball Jim. My family and I go to NZ every couple of years, going again in July next year, we don't do a lot of the tourist stuff there, we do a lot of fishing and some shooting and because the North island is relatively small , we drive a lot, plenty to see as its a beautiful country and you don't have to drive far between sights , you'll enjoy it i'm sure...  Are you staying in Auckland..?

On the other hand I have been to Australia and Sydney is a great city.  Check out the Blue Mountains just a few hours away.
