I'm not sure Larry. I know the s-90 had bigger valves so I would think the carburetor would have different jetting.

Appreciate the heads up.

I think I messed up the clutch. Live and learn. Even at my age.

Camshaft on the S90 is different as well, the valves were bigger on the S90 and it produced 8 bhp in stock condition...
DrATV.com has a nice cam that give good mid & low range performance without robbing high end... more duration....

Some great knowledgeable guys on the Yahoo S90 forum... Scott in St Louis area and Bill B (william B up in PacNW) are goldmines of info...

LOTS of variations on the S90 and CT motors in their production run. Your '69 would be late model even for S90. The official last year of domestic US versions was 1969 but my S90 has a data plate from Mother Honda that states it was a 1970 model built to EPA standards...so, variation and rare birds do exist. My S90 is chrome fenders and late ruby red metallic paint...
I like the bright red that is classic honda red but the S90 is a sweet bike, the CT90s are great bikes too...
Great hunting bikes or exploring bikes for the woods... You have a very nice one there TT...

I was told the S-90 had a bigger cam by the Honda dealer in my area. They told me that they would sell 4 or 5 a week of the CT-90 model. Use to put S-90 cams in them also. I'm looking for an S-90 as that was my first bike. Found a couple nice ones but shipping killed the deal. Still looking for one. If you run across one drop me a PM and I'll buy lunch.

They still do automotive work but closed the Honda end of it in 1988. I get my carburetors and master cylinders done there. I have bought a lot from Beatrice Cycle. It's amazing the amount of parts they carry for the smaller CC Honda's.

I sold the Early 1969 model a couple of days ago. Sure wish I could of salvaged the front fender reflector.

Cool stuff right there! I assembled the clutch cover wrong thus I need a couple of parts. I should hit that site because I'm not sure how you reassemble with the motor in. Can't be to difficult as these are so easy to work on. Especially after a CBX!

I'm picking up the carburetor today so I'll get that all done. Then wait on the clutch parts. 2 week delay at best then get her running. At this time I plan on selling it while the Snowbirds are here. They love these things.

I talked with Ron Harris today. Love listening to stories of the Honda's they sold.

I asked Ron why they closed the Honda end of the business in 1988. He told me that there were several reasons one of which the litigation Honda, and some dealers, were going through on the 3 wheeler models. ATC I think he said.

Also, around the mid 80's Honda required that the Dealers pre-order which bikes they wanted to stock for the entire year. Ron said this was hard to do and required huge overhead on them. Never know what will sell. Honda did not want bikes sitting in the warehouse. He remembers well getting a master list once a month from Honda and the CBX had the highest numbers. Every month.

Over 2000 Honda Dealers closed the doors shortly after the inventory change and lawsuits brought forth from the ATC models.

Just thought I would share.

Waiting on a part for the clutch then this CT is ready to fire.

Carburetor installed as well as fuel lines. I'll leave the air cleaner off for now until she runs.

Nothing more to do but add oil. Hope I don't forget!

Every month Honda sent a list of warehouse stock. The CBX always had the most units. They just did not sell.

Stay tuned on the wheel. Dennis is a friend so I told him what it is worth. If he had a set they would be in my garage.

Pretty sure he said 750. Might have been for a GW.

From what I've been told and read it was several things. The "times" were in to other styles and smaller bikes. The cost not to mention the service costs. I read somewhere where an oil change was several hours labor which involved dropping the oil pan. Things like that.

Six carburetors scared them to death and most shop mechanics were glad to see them go. Valve adjustments were not easy either.

For the day they were very hi-tech bikes especially the 81/82 models. Goldwings were selling well also. In 1985 CBX's were still in crates. Honda gave hundreds to school systems but they couldn't work on them either. There are a few, called school bikes, with less then 3 miles on them. That's just from pushing them around.

Look at Jay Leno in that video. Paid $2100 for a new 1981 CBX! Listed for over twice that.

Finally after seven weeks I receive3d my $4.50 cent part. Mess up on order. Long story and I chose to forget it.

The 1969 CT-90 late model is done. Road test today in 80 degree weather.

Rode the CBX just for fun this morning.

Everything is good to go and a blast to ride. Would make a great "I forgot the cheese" run to the store. Listing on CL tomorrow.

They vary greatly out here. Snowbirds love them. See them strapped to the motor home. Going to list high and take no less than $1500.00.

No worries, it will sell out here. I have a line on two more with very low miles for $2500.00 My tax accountant is looking.
