Topic: VMR PAINTS? Anyone use their products?

I recently stumbled across this on the web when I was looking for "Candy Bacchus Olive".   VMR paints, showing most of the stock colors that are hard to find.  I just had some parts done elsewhere in Candy Gold that was matched through a friend of mine and they turned out real nice. This site looks like the have all the colors!! Anyone use these products and what did you think?

I haven’t personally used their products, but they will send you a color chip sample. Just click on ‘request a chip’ at the bottom of your posted link, my chip sample arrived in no time.

I did, check my avatar bike,  candy topaz orange.   you have to use this paint right away, it has almost no shelf life. other that that, looks ok.

Are you talking a two stage =base coat/top coat or single stage then clear over??? and can it be h ordered in ANY color?

I think some of the paint is bc/cc, depending on the shade.  Then some is three stage- metallic base, multiple coats of kandy, and then a clear coat.   depends on the color.     You can also get paint from TCP Global.

I'm new to this forum, but thought I would chime in. The most important factor when painting anything is how well you complete the prep work. I have used their products a few times in the past couple years and prior to VMR Paints have tried the like two others. As far as the quality and finish product of VMR, it's a no brainer for me. You're getting the very best paints on the market, such as, House of Kolor and DuPont's ChromaBase. The kits are professionally packaged and labeled in metal tin paint cans (not some cheap plastic bottle like others), They claim to custom mix every color to original OEM parts and guarantee they products. They also offer a free paint chip sample of the color you want and a toll free number for tech support and customer service. I do recommend going with the 24oz. kits when doing a complete restorations. This assures you will have enough and eases any doubt about running short. I know they now offer a complete line of almost every vintage color used. The site states they carry over 120 Honda colors.


About the shelf life mention above.....The catalyst and hardeners shelf life is around 15-25 days because once the product becomes introduced the air it will slowly begin to solitify over a period of few weeks. I found out the hard way when I purchased a kit three months before i went to use it. I call them and they sent me out new catalyst and hardener for my clear at no cost. I been using VMR Paint now for my last three project and would recommend anyone restoring their bike to check them out first. Their the real deal.
