We don't grow them super big, but there is enough to eat on 2-3 year old like this.

I'm glad your okay. I was almost killed by one a year ago. It left me for dead in the ditch. I was always worried about turkey here but it was deer that got me.
I've done a lot of things in my life that I'm not proud of...and the things I AM proud of, "are disgusting"

Agreed the deer population is getting out of hand. No natural predators anymore. Even in San Diego we're seeing deer killed on the roads and even the freakin' freeways. Dangerous situation.

When I was growing up in the sixties and started riding on the road when I got my license, we never worried about deer. Most of the time if you actually saw one it was rare occurence. Now you can't go more than a mile or two and they are all over the place. To be honest the deer population here in northern Indiana is way too high. I wish someone could do something about it. Way too many accidents.

My sister-in-law kept blaming the hunters for the deer running out in the road.

Because a friend of ours was killed by one while riding on the back of a motorcycle.

I explained to her and hopefully to others who read this.........................the hunters are a motorcyclist's friend, due to they are shooting them to decrease the population.

The real reason....IMHO.....(just look around with all the disasters also)............we as humans are causing it.

Population has increased....the natural habitat of the deer is being cut down to build sub divisions.....housing units.

Hell, I used to ride a rode just because I like the trees.......but now they are all gone, because of a housing development. I never saw a deer till this happened. Now deer are all over the place trying to find food and have no wheres to go but into the highways.

So..........bringing this story to a close......my sister-in-law...(God Bless Her Soul)......hunts to her hearts content.

That's the reason....IMO......that we hear of more deer incidents and also natural disasters....because they used to happen out in the open where no one lived......but now, we are moving out into the path of these natural happenings..........

BTW.....glad you're OK........had to lock up my brake and skid to avoid a deer a couple of months ago.....on a road thought a neighborhood....never would have thought a deer would be in the street there.

Glad you dodged that bullet. I am starting a gofundme account for you so we can raise enough money to completely cover your bikes in plastic deer whistles !!   ;D
While I was camping up north in Michigan recently I was leaving our dirt road area at 11:00pm at night and a pair of twin spotted fawns, very small, would not get out of the way of my truck. Thought I would have to go out and pick one up to move it out of the way for a minute. Probably would have got a swift kick from Mama  ;)

yep,its the norm even in big cities,,its the norm in australia,,that one looks a little lame actually!

I think we're limited to 2 trailers...no road trains around here..most of it goes by rail.

Oregon allows for triple trailers.

But OMFG you aussies are nuts.

Glad you're OK, a friend of mine was killed when he hit a big one on a solo road trip to Ohio on his Harley. Ejected from the bike and into oncoming traffic. #$%*ing terrible, could've been a lot worse. Glad it wasn't.  :)

*knock on wood* no close calls with critters on my bike... but we did see one walking up the sidewalk in front of our house last night. Wife thought it was a Great Dane at first!

Moose are our real problem up here... My grandfather's friend was decapitated when he hit a moose that reared up just before the hit. Those #$%*ers are HUGE.

Glad you are OK.  Too bad about the fawn...  You are going to need to start riding with a cart behind you so you can take the deer home to dress it out properly...not that you would do that with a fawn  (would you?)

Here's my closest encounter with deer. I posted this video at this time last year. Hence the little one following behind.
