Topic: Alternator cover paint

I just got my alternator cover polished on my K3.  It's taken most of the black paint off the background of the Honda name.

What's the best paint to use (acrylic, two pack or engine paint) and what's the best method to apply it (steady hand and art brush or hypo)?

Any advice please?

I was going to mask off the Honda letters along with virtually everything else and then spray it with VHT engine enamel. Black outside case, polished inside case and letters, black indention around the letters, red in the ring

Spray some black engine paint on a plastic sheet then use a paintbrush. that's the easiest way I have found to do it.

I used a Sharpie freehand ,was hard to stay in the lines so I put on several coats then wiped off the bleed over with a bit of acetone on a kleenex . It just doen't last that long before it fades . But the good thing is a Sharpie comes in many colors !
