Windjammer IV off a 78 750 automatic
« on: November 17, 2012, 06:49:54 PM »
I have a Maroon colored Windjammer 4 in great condition along with wiring harness and mounting bracket off a 78 750A. Fairing and pocket covers are in great condition, windshield is also very good.  The lock on the right hand storage area was replaced at some point in time and has the key.  Lights all work, but the headlight ring is faded and the ring could use a paint job. Anyone have any experience shipping something like this?  I was thinking of selling on E-Bay, but have no idea what it would be worth or how to ship it. Location is northern Illinois-Thanks, Len

shipping would be outrageous due to the size.you might want to sell it as local pickup only.i have seen them sell as low as 25 bucksto around 50 or so.it depends on how bad someone wants it
don't buy it build it

Yeah, it seems that you can't give away a fairing or fairing/bag set sometimes. I just put them up in the attic. One day I may want to ride with less wind in my face.

Or less wind chill in your bones.  Less fatigue on a long ride, etc.

It's not so much wind in your face, you can still get that if you don't make the shield too high.  It's the constant wind on your chest trying to remove you from the bike that is quite fatiguing.
The Vetter also has quite good aerodynamics.  Far better than the human body (unless you are laying flat on top of the bike.)

If I weren't in California, I'd be more interested.  I had one shipped from MA years ago.  I recall shipping was more than the fairing cost.

I'm in NWI, where are you in northern Illinois? I've been keeping my eyes open for a parts bike with the vetter but I may check it out.

Thanks for the responses and confirming my thought that shipping would be prohibitive.
