MONDAY DAD: What TOP SPEED are you shooting for ???? and what distants to get their ?????  JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A KILL LANDYARD and not the stupid kill button on the handlebar .........  IRON PONY in Columbus sells them for $20 cheaper than a life flight $5900.

I'd figure that to be mandatory.

156!  Two strokers amaze me. After getting my gt380, I tossed around the idea of building a 2 stroke for bonneville. Bought and read the two stroke tuners handbook. Just seemed daunting to build a real one, plus I knew way more about turbo 4 strokes.

Lanyards are required by the rules.

That bunch of intake parts that you see in message #89 are coming together into one piece.  Matt's been putting the final touches on the intake runners that Dave welded together for him. (Dave did a really nice job: helps to get a guy who welds aluminum all day long!)  Lots of reaming to get the rightt bore and curves.  I'm sure he'll post some pictures soon, though he's posted a few on the Facebook site already.  The injectors arrived late last week, and he's been working on the fuel rail too... making "bung holes"... let the jokes begin!

I decided to cut the exhaust manifold in half to grind the non-back purge welds out of the runners....only to find that they werent very bad at all.  good way to waste an entire night!  :o

Really starting to stress about fitting everything on the bike too.  After the turbo/intercooler/intake manifold/ piping are on, all the space from the rear tire to the head is pretty much used up.  Still have to fit the megasquirt box, fuel pump/regulator, intercooler water pump, battery, and im sure more stuff I'm forgetting.   :o

Why make spilt gas tank and put all the electronics in the back half
You should only need a gallon or so of gas

Similar to the current plan, but with the air/water intercooler we need a big water/ice tank. So the plan is to use a small 1.5 gal tank up front (rule state it must be 1L minimum) and then behind it have a large water tank. Electronics are going to go behind the rider in the seat cap.

I think that was a typo on the fuel tank size.......should be 5L minimum.  Good on the combo tank idea........I think cold fuel equals more power 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

I believe that's right heated fuel robs power . So coolered fuel is better
Maybe a heat shield between the gas tank and engine and a cover
over the fuel line . Used to do it on dirt bikes in enduros

Sounds like an awesome dude POPS.  I will look into him.  I appreciate the encouraging words, I have been going hard at it and its awesome to have your support.  Still too busy to take on your 750 though  :P

Its been a crazy week.  A lot of grinding and running around.  I am a slave to my intake manifold right now, but its slowly paying off.    Enough talking.........pics  :-X

How many of you have done this before?

Wow.  Love it.  There's some great attention to detail there, I feel like I can see the efficient laminar flow just looking at the shapes, straight shots, and smooth blends.

Many levels above the usual "screw it, the turbo'll stuff everything into the head anyhow" approach.  Very excited to see how this thing works once it's all together.

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

syscrush and chris- Thanks for the positive words!  The positive feedback you guys are giving really makes it that much more exciting  8)

jim- Thanks, and again it was my friend Dave Zupan that did the welding.  He seems to be getting a lot of positive attention after posting these pictures on the web.  He holds himself to a extremely high standard (maybe a little too high sometimes  :P)  We do plan to pressure check it also.  just need to build a simple plate with a fitting where the throttle body will go, and install the injectors.  He works at C&R Racing (http://www.crracing.com) and has easy access to pressure testing equipment.

Here it is guys and gals, nearly done...  I need to smooth out the injector bungs from the inside with the ole die grinder, and figure out how to tie down the fuel rail.
