Hello, thanks for the forum and the wealth of tech and knowledge on here. I've spent just about every day since signing up digging around and reading and figured I should introduce myself before going further.
As the title says, I'm not new to wrenching and racing. My car history is littered with old Japanese cars, lots of Rx-7's, RWD Corollas, a Z car, if it was from the 70's or 80's and RWD I wanted it. I made a point of always doing all the work myself and learning anything I did know. I got exposed early to the growing drifting movement in America and spent my teens and early twenties doing that. With the mountains around my friends and I ended up terrorizing passes and learning what not to do when driving a car.
Recently with a better job and additional funds I made the leap into legitimate racing. I'm a member of the SCCA, and about every weekend of the summer you can find me at a trackday or autocross event with my current car, a 1990 Miata.
I purchased a 1997 Nighthawk CB250 in March of this year and spent the summer trying to get the basics down. And while I realized I love riding a motorcycle, the Nighthawk wasn't my style, and I wanted something with just a bit more punch. A friend gave me a lead on a '73 CB500, and here I am. I love the bike, I have yet to ride it, it needs some work, but it brings a smile to my face every time I see it, and has taken priority as my winter project. I'm hoping with all the useful info on here I can learn the art of motorcycle maintenance, excuse the indoor photo, my current home doesn't have a garage.
Sorry, that was a little more long winded than I intended.
