New Style SuperSport Modded Tank
« on: August 13, 2006, 08:11:50 PM »
I just listed my Cafe' Racer project on eBay and thought a few of you may be interested in the different style custom SuperSport tank I did on the bike.  I indented the front corners to accept the clip-ons when at full lock to provide clearance.  It was so much work I could not get the energy up to do the knee indentations.  Take a look, some new ideas - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=320015833453&ih=011&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT  thanks! ;D

I like everything you've done except the tank indentations. Someone is going to get a great deal.

My thoughts exactly, someone is going to (or at least should) be a proud owner of an awesome creation. Makes me anxious to see what the next project's gonna be and what you do to IT.

One bid so far ... great news.  Next year I am doing a CR750 replica, but not hard core ..... just a street legal one, electric start and all.  I already have the K8 and am prepping the fiberglass tank (Vinylester I think?) and seat section as we speak.  This tank is supposed to be fuel proof vs regular resin but I am lining it with the Hirsch fiberglass tank sealer just to be extra safe.  This group helped me so much on the Cafe' with tons of suggestions for things I ran into, I can't thank everyone enough.  It was my first CB750 and I knew nothing about them when I started  ???

I want to give a go at fiberglassing tank and pan as well. I got a good how-to article from the website  http://www.fiberlay.com/   How To's
Fiberglass-Epoxy Basic Training. You might already know this but just in case. Give us an update on the next one.

I love the tank indentations, it gives it a racy look.
