I thought that yellow was cool also but I couldn't see myself riding on one. Not stand out enough for me, so I had to paint them hold all over.
Spent all day today with the bike, full fun exhausted day. Removed rear wheel off the parts bike
I refuse to take my wheels to the shop. Last time I went there to have tires removed, even with proper tools and machines, he was able to put nicks on my Lester's wheels. So I thought if they are going to get scratched up, might as well be me who scratch them up.
Let out the air and on my way to take the tire and tube out. After Let out air from the tire, I used large c-clamp to help break tire lip from the rim.
I then used two tire iron to help me out around the rim
Notice how I orient the irons differently. The left (top) I used it to grab the tire inner lip. The one on right (bottom) I used it to ply and push tire down so the other iron can get good grab of the lip
I also used plastic sheets fold 4 layers and used it as cushion so the rim doesn't get scratched up too bad
Positioning the irons and ply away. Spacing few inches at a time and keep working your way around, this gets easier as you go. Yes, pain in the rear job, but with determination the old hard tire came off.
Not as much scratches as I had expected, so I'm happy.
Primed the rim.
Painted the wheels, and other pieces. Just ordered 8mm valve stem for the rims. Will be taking off the kimtabs and swap the tires to Lester.
