I thought that yellow was cool also but I couldn't see myself riding on one.  Not stand out enough for me, so I had to paint them hold all over.  ;)

Spent all day today with the bike, full fun exhausted day.  Removed rear wheel off the parts bike

I refuse to take my wheels to the shop.  Last time I went there to have tires removed, even with proper tools and machines, he was able to put nicks on my Lester's wheels.   So I thought if they are going to get scratched up, might as well be me who scratch them up.

Let out the air and on my way to take the tire and tube out. After Let out air from the tire, I used large c-clamp to help break tire lip from the rim.

I then used two tire iron to help me out around the rim

Notice how I orient the irons differently.  The left (top) I used it to grab the tire inner lip.  The one on right (bottom) I used it to ply and push tire down so the other iron can get good grab of the lip

I also used plastic sheets fold 4 layers and used it as cushion so the rim doesn't get scratched up too bad

Positioning the irons and ply away. Spacing few inches at a time and keep working your way around, this gets easier as you go.  Yes, pain in the rear job, but with determination the old hard tire came off.

Not as much scratches as I had expected, so I'm happy.

Primed the rim.

Painted the wheels, and other pieces.  Just ordered 8mm valve stem for the rims.  Will be taking off the kimtabs and swap the tires to Lester.

Rewinding back a little.  Over a week ago when i finished cleaning the pipes, looked into my parts bin and found set of exhaust spigot in there, awesome, but only to really just now that I need those 8 screws to attach spigot to the engine.  Honda still sell them screws for 0.66 each. For total of less than $6, but the look too new and I like to reuse and recycle...any one has 8 of these laying around not use?  Parts number:93600-08022

Got a pair of these in the mail the other day, then painted black.  Waited a whole week for them to come in, and broke them in less than 5 minutes while mounting it.

Went over to an MC tire shop nearby my hood and got these for $15/ea.

Bought these tire balancer bead awhile back, now is the time.  1 oz for each wheel.  Dynamic balance is done.

Just few more things to do: mount exhaust, remove one of the front caliper and readjust, carb sync, etc and she should be good for a test ride to gas station.

I've read that a while back, too. The tire shop put those on my 550 bike, no problems.  Ride it 100, 80, 60, 40 mph etc....no issues, no wobbles.

Stev-o...being a SA
I dare say the photo of the female/woman in the first picture is goldarrow's wife...and he didn't adopt but he and his wife bore the sons he has...

So, GA, you going to photograph the new Tracy bodied 750 with the other running bikes for a little photo essay?
Does your wife ride? Does she have any interest in learning.
You have a 550, right? You could teach her on it and you two could enjoy a ride sometime when you get family to watch the boys.  Trip up to Santa Barbara up 1 or 101 would be a good trip.  Maybe treat her to a little shopping in SB with a nice meal and ride back. Lots of good shops there in my experience, along with restaurants.
Or a weekend trip if you could finagle it with longer ride & overnight up to SLO area and enjoy some yummy tri-tip steak or tri-tip sandwich and enjoy the farmer's market, Pismo Beach, the eucalyptus groves, some riding in the canyons, etc.

Might be able to talk Mooshie into joining you guys on a ride as she knows some good roads I understand...

BTW, on tire changes, handles of milk jugs can be split and used as guards for the edge of the rim to protect it from scratches, They make some plastic protectors that work on the bead edge of some rims, can't be too thick a profile...so the results are mixed on them and they run $8-9 so they aren't as cheap as repurposing the milk jug handles...just don't recycle the whole jug to obtain your tire changer sleeves...

Thanks David for recommendation. She knows how to ride scooters with automatic tranny.  No MC license so will plan all those out in the future.

Great idea on the milk galloon handle, never thought of that.  Got plenty of those in the back as kids drink them like Capri Sun.

Got the old chain in.  O-ring type chain.  Cleaned out old grease and surface rust previously.  Surprisingly no clearance issues like many posts I have read ???

18/48 F/R sprockets, I believe these are stock sizes so they should be snappy both city and freeway riding.

I'm such a caveman, never heard of the Rock Store until now...lol. Just visited and read from website, already felt intimidating.  My $400 bike versus all those fancy high $ bikes in the pics.   May be one day will do a two up ride for early morning breakfast so I don't have to see bunch of Harley's lol.

Gold sprocket sounds great, but all are set and adjusted at the rear end.....hmm...may be take them apart and paint it???

The gold wheels look sharp with the red body work. Reminds me of the CB1100f scheme.

I've heard of the Rock Store too - go there and stand proud.  All the Harley's won't get he attention yours will. My K5 has a 17t front sprocket, believe that is stock. 18 will work, not as quick out of he hole.

On my way home from work, picked up a set of 8 exhaust mount scews, all for less than $6, awesomeness.

Beside packing and shipping 2 sets of pipes for members on the forum, this weekend will be very interesting....

Well I thought I would be able to get few things done on the bike, but other things got in the way.   Still interesting weekend though nonetheless.  Went to irwindale speedway swap meet, but not much there.  Saw this 550 in the parking lot, thought the paint color looks nice

Then saw this 750 in the show bikes section

Looking up close, oil weep, now I don't feel bad about my bike weeping oil

Also picked up motogpwerks 550 pipes off Craigslist

Went to home depot and picked up some hardware for $5 to mount passenger foot peg and pipes

Can we call this half @$$ed job? Only the right side went on.
