Spent half a day stripping down the bike, most of time really was cleaning up oil in the floor.  Must have spilled at least a qt. of oil while draining.

That and the gears it slides into definitely.  Problem usually caused by rider abuse-as has been mentioned earlier the bottom end is practically bullet proof unless abused...Larry

I would not expect to see any where there at all? Usually all the wear is on the end of the "forks". Makes me wonder if your shift forks were installed backwards or some such thing...

Found left shift fork in parts bin, wonderful condition, got it cleaned up and oiled.   Looked into the gear drum more closely, there is a good amount of wear on the slot where that damaged fork pin sits.  Will have to dig in my parts bin again. If not found, I might have to hit Stevo up for the drum

They have been sitting on the shelves.  No idea what I'm gonna do with them.

Now my question is, how do you remove the drum, before I damage the case

Got the shift drum out, that was too easy, just had to remove the neutral switch at the bottom

And here's a better shot of the worn drum



Found a shift drum in my parts bin, just have to clean it up and oil it

Sorry, Gold, I just am having a hard time seeing the issue in the pics [and yes, my eyes are good!]
Can you put the trans back in with a good shift drum and fork and try to shift it and see how it looks?

Gotta agree with Steve, though  the inner part of the lower dog in the first photo does appear to be a tad rounded but that could be either a refection or something close to normal wear and tear.  I am surprised there isn't damage...Larry

Case half is back on now, just needed few small hit with rubber mallet.  All is too easy, too good to be true? Used small amount of hondabond around the mating surface, then tight up the bolts. 

My concerns are two things as I couldn't see how the center fork went on to the gear slot, and chain roller. Any pointer?

Got the engine all buttoned up, cleaned, and degreased, will need some touch up paint before going back in the frame
