I have a 1975 CB750 K5. It has 28K on it and is a nice looking bike, but since I got it five months ago I have had a very hard time with it. I knew it needed a new drum shifter when I bought it and planned on changing it out, but since then I have discovered that
It was only running on cylinders 2&3- fixed it... I think
The rear wheel was missing a spacer- fixed it..pretty sure
Running rich and won't hold ideal- working on timing / carb sync. / cam chain...all of which are A little bit of a mystery to me.
Finally to the question regarding problem number 5 and before I decide to start using this thing for target practice.
When I stahl, for any of a number of reasons in the middle of the road, sometimes the starter seems to stick as if the battery were low. The kick start works but it is pretty difficult to turnover. I know the battery isn't dead because it will turn over a few minutes later....after i have had a few neighbors drive by asking if I need help. Is this something easily diagnosable or another, check for ohms at six locations, order an obscure part and clean your carbs thing? Is my starter giving out on me. I can hear the solenoid clicking and the starter trying to turn over.
