Engine parts compatibility
« on: November 15, 2012, 12:47:13 PM »
I have a 78 CB550 engine, and the crankshaft is bad.  I was wondering if I picked up an available bottom end from a 76', could I put my top end on it?  I would want to install the cylinder core and head.  Also, the pistons.  Thanks

All 550 engines are basically the same, the 77/78 K's had different inlet manifolds, carb rubbers, carbs and air box.

If yoou just want a crank and rods all the 500 and 550 fours are identical
