painted my frame today
« on: November 11, 2012, 08:06:29 PM »
so today i tried some new paint it is valspar implement paint in spray bomb can. it works pretty good it goes on evenly, has good coverage, and a little goes a long way. the things i didn't like are it is a little to glossy and the fumes are horrible.but other than that i like it.

Implement paints - I use them on the tractor and oh, yes, implements. Pretty good stuff. Hardens like a rock eventually.

I have never heard of that implement paint...But i have had good luck with the vht epoxy paint in spray can....will handle 250 degrees, And dries very hard. Pretty close to the factory sheen.  So far so good on my k4 project .Used it on the trees..and small parts...doing the frame sooooon!  Also hope to post some pics soon to.

yeah that's the other good thing about it when it dries completely it's almost bullet proof.

Perhaps I shall go get some of this and paint some scrap and put this paint through it's paces. I have a "rock gun" that I made that shoots...well...rocks at about 300ft per sec. That will prove out whether it can handle road conditions. I like testing stuff  ;D

Hmm...sounds like  a challenge and since I like shooting I'll load up an M4 and an M24 and do some target practice to test the bullet proofiness. And then maybe put it through a controlled blast of about 3lbs of tannerite... Then we can add that it's both bullet proof AND blast proof...it if survives..
You CAN do great things...with enough beer.
