Topic: picked up a 1985 vt500c shadow today

i bought this today from a guy he said it ran last year. he charged the battery up it ran like crap and only with the choke on. my son took the carbs off cleaned them very good. and this thing runs excellent now. i have to change the turn signals and headlight bucket new grips and some wd-40 here and there. the tank and plastics are in excellent shape,so is the seat.it was a well spent 425.00 also came with a clean and clear title.

Thanks I feel like a idiot I didn't realize it is a 6 speed until I was riding it and seen the overdrive light come on. This is the first time I have ever ridden a shaft drive bike.

man we never get that cheapness here,good one,terry has had a few good scores though,,they can want 500 bucks for bare frames!a lot of stuff on our ebay and gumtree goes round and round not selling though.

Very nice! We didn't get the "Custom" model here, the VT500's that came out here had some serious problems and the engines blew up on a regular basis, but that one of yours looks great! Cheers, Terry.

VF1000/750, and VT500F/VT250 were all two wheeled hand grenades here in Oz.

I had one in marron. Hauled a$$ to me. it was ucomfortable though. I always wanted and still want the 700 or 1100 to see if they fit better. I bought mine for 1200 several years ago and sold it for the same.
