float adjustment on a 76 honda 550???

my question is how do you adjust or measure the floats on the carbs...the original manual says 22 mm but how do you measure them..? any helpful tips would really help and please put this in an easy way that i would know how to do it!

Easy.  Cut up your old credit card to u shape, landscape.  The inner u measure it 22mm and the inner width wide enough to be over the floats.

Doesn't get easier than that.  The procedure is also listed and pictured well in the shop manual, and clymer book.

I don't measure. Flip carbs upside down and adjust floats so they are level with the flat surface of carbs. Works everytime for me.
