Bill is that yours?
Nice looking ride!
Is that a B-25 unit? It spools plenty quick, and flows enough cfm to put you into the 9's, good luck.
I had a Dyna III for a long time before I got the Mallory mag. The Dyna throws a great spark with a big plug gap with those orange coils.
You didn't say what rods are in this motor, so repeat after me: I NEED AN AIR SHIFTER. DON'T SCRIMP ON THE FUEL. DON'T RATTLE THE MOTOR.
You know this already, so I can tell you from first-hand experience that yes those old RC Eng catalogs were correct, stock rods are the weakest link in these motors when your turbo tune-up gets stout (or stupid), they tend to become little 'S' shaped garage ornaments.
You didn't say which fuel pump you have, and you might want to ditch that wimpy low-flow fuel filter... once that boost goes up so does the fuel volume required, and a pingle petcock won't cut it when you start making the hp to run deep into the 10's or running over 140mph. It takes manifold psi to get the flow numbers you need for that arm-streatching power!
Lean gets MEAN in a hurry, it has a way of creating 100% leak down.  ::)
At least it did with mine.  :o  :o  :o
You might check the wastegate valve seat seal too, those old square units are well, old.
AND WTF is up with those white leathers??? 007 James Bond is a member here???  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

What fuel pump is being used ?  What size carburetor is being used ?  A Mikuni hsr 42 mm would be the best choice imo.   ;)

One of the best mods I've found to help in that area is to run a seperate relay from the the starter solenoid to the coils....you get a full 12 volts to the coils. It does make a difference...I have done it to my FJ and CB. Easy to do too.

With todays ignition systems, a mag is obsolete and cumbersome to say the least. Often times one set up incorrectly will make you want to stop racing. Big Jim picked the very best system for the money when he put that MSD MC4 on his turbo. Lots of features to make a turbo live a long time.  There are other high end systems but the MSD is the best bang for the buck. Bill might want to look into one of these if he plans to race the bike. It'll save parts and maybe even his life.

I've been thinking of going for the MSD but with my current income not sure when... The other one I'm thinking about is Ignitech.

I agree,MC-4 first choice, but theres a Dyna 2000 sitting there supposedly all ready to go! ;D Might try it? ???
I can't race 3 bikes, probably going to race Samauto and Purple Haze!!! Make Calendar Girl regular street ride(air shifter to Turbo) and tether kill, make Samauto pts bike and $$ seeker and Turbo for fun passes...something like that! ;) ;D Bill
Remounted tach w/proper bracket, been installing allenheads and new hardware,Rode it to fuel up,felt good,f wheel out of round or bent, probably match f to r from Buchannons along w/H/D stainless spokes.Plenty to do ,but I'm glad I was able to pull the trigger on this one!!! 8) Bill

Went to tag office,PRPLHZ not available, but PRPLRN was so back to Purple Rain! Tag on the way!!! 8)
been working on it ,more later tonight. Bill

I wanted a personalized registration but in the UK they are very expensive so I came up with a cheap way out by having my name changed by deed poll. My new name is Melonine Rexem to go with my registration plate which is ML09RXM.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Simples. ::)
