This is what I did:



Cut a flat round rubber plug then an aluminum slug with an O ring, the center screw rams the solid rubber plug up against the end hole, the O ring seals the shaft.

Is anyone taking over for Frank on these oiler cap off plugs? I a couple as I need to cap my K4 and K5 chain oilers. My K5 the seal(or is it an o-ring?) is gone, split apart and drenching the motor and kick stand/center stand/swingarm.
Thankfully my K6 doesn't have the oiler.

Last time I talked to Frank about it, sounded like he was all set, not sure if he had made any more. He was getting me a shipping cost, then I forgot to ask him about it before he passed. I would be interested in one, if anybody else makes his design.

Below is the question I asked awhile ago and never got a response. I went ahead and made the plug. It fit fine but opted to give the chain oiler another shot making sure it was screwed in all the way. I'll move to this if it still leaks.

May go the spark plug route to plug the chain oiler. Would a plug similar to the B5ES do the trick?

The threaded portion of that spark plug is too short to cover the hole in the side of the counter-shaft. There are more recent threads regarding chain oiler plugs. I made a one-off plug for my K1, which was missing the rubber seal altogether.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

So you get a response this time...... I don't know if it would be necessary or not to go deep or just seal the end of a short spark plug and threads(how much pressure does that oil feed have?)

OK. Thanks. I think I remember reading there wasn't pressure a couple days ago when I was reading through some threads on the oiler.

So then, does your plug screw in to bottom out/seal off the oil hole then? Did you use a thread locker to seal the threads and lock the plug from backing out?

I just saw a thread in which Frank posted a picture of his plugs. I wonder if any were left in the sale of his estate sale?

The reason I ask is pieces of the puzzle in my remembering threads and conversations coming together, and I was over at Anders shop last October, talking with him about getting one of his high output alternators and he mentioned the K6 oil tank was different than the K5 and earlier tanks and was a good thing to use with his setup for clearance of mounting the R1 regulator/rectifier.
I know on the K6 Honda eliminated the chain oiler(double checked the K6 bike I have and remember that from the time in the parts room learning the 750s in the 70s. Not all is forgotten yet......

Well another sleepless night.... There seems not to be a hose from the tank as I surmised but there is a tray in the case that collects the oil to deliver the oil to the oiler. Still learning at 65....

Ah, I didn't realize there was a hole in the side of the countershaft for this oil flow, thank you Scottly.
