Let's see if we can settle this (for my dim-wittedness).

The arrow points in the direction of the stamped designation, is that correct? So, with the arrow pointing upward toward the tank, that's FUEL ON, as follows:

Whereas with the arrow pointing down, this is RESERVE:

I only know that in OFF, the fuel is cut off.

I think the arrow is confusing because I'm interpreting it as the direction of flow...

I wonder if it washed up or the vehicle disintegrated around it.

My Shorai LFX14A2 is having some issues. I can't seem to get it charged above 12.5V even while keeping the bike at a steady 5000 rpm - it used to climb up as high as 15.2V. While idle (around 1000 rpm), the battery reads a low 11.1V...
What could this mean? Possibly the Blk wire from the reg/rec is a poor connection at 12V ignition?
Calj?

That's not good. Time to break out the multimeter!

We need a good baseline charge on yur battery. Charge it fully, let it sit, then take a meter reading.

With bike running, reading at idle, 3k, 4K, and 5k please.

You running a Ricks, I don't recall? And remind how it's wired please.

think it normal for a stock system.---(but think not you have that)
.it have not a real volt regulator as stock bike..
..so it vill  load sensing..and  thange by shut some  restistens ohm  inn and aut in the regulator..and shut on and off the elektromagenet. its not total akurat..turn the pos light on can get the volts to fall..so you gets abaut the 12 volt..turn it off..and it reise to over 14(mine does it so)..but it vorks fine on a 12 ah battery..

..the elektronic ones do the vhole presise so you never gets over 13,5-14,5volt..if the elektronic give problems ..it often the load sentive vire vho goes the the regulator..and tells it the aktuly voltage on the battery.(.and it tells somthing vrong) bad konnektion

It's an ElectroSport and if you recall, the company sent me a replacement to fix the crossed wires. But since then, it seemed my system was operating fine up until the other day I started noticing the power drops. I rarely ever saw, if ever, the voltage drop below 12V so I was thinking perhaps vibration shook the Blk wire I pigtailed to one of the blacks at the 12V ignition... I will inspect.
But meanwhile, tonight I'll plug the battery up to the power base station and see about getting it up to a good baseline read.

Thanks, calj!

they can go bad....but i have never seen it.
.ve got a lot of startors to aur shop..and 99% are fine..and are returned vitaut doing anything.(ve are heating them to 85 deg..and test vith a megger..for shorts to metal frame and ekstreme heigh ohm)
..its alvays elektric/viring reg problems...most bad konnektions and vrong mounted parts vho goes bad...those stators are solid..specily the dry types ve have ..the oil cooled are a bit more" cooked"and can  have failed isolasion...hot oil burns up the lauqer so they shorts aut

I don't think it'd be the stator either. The Shorai rep was mainly referencing their personal experience with a much later (more current year) bike.

The battery is now charging.
I must remind myself to disconnect the terminals and then check all the connections, especially the Blk wire to the 12V ignition.

Thanks, strynboen!

I am not saying this is the case but, you are the third member in two weeks that I have encountered with a recently new electro sport reg/rec and charging problems. So we need to also consider whether or not that device is functioning properly

Oh wow. That's not good.
Calj, would this test provided by ElectroSport be good to trouble shoot that device?

Turns out that it may refer to Lithium Ion as opposed to Lithium Iron (LiFe) batteries, per the maestro, calj:)
