Hi from North Carolina!
« on: November 18, 2012, 09:29:06 AM »
Hi All,

New member here from NC.  Just picked up a 77 CB750F2 as a project bike!  I has sat under a guys carport for the last 26 years,  lots of surface rust but the major components all seem solid.  The engine turns freely and feels like it has good compression. I'm planning on a cafe build that  will take to the track occasionally.

It's nice to see a forum with such a wealth of information on these bikes, I cant wait to get started on my project!

In Greensboro, 2 hrs. away. I see back section of another bike in pic and some bars and pipes also. Is this your shop? The 750 is missing the carbs, have you took them off for cleaning or where they already gone when you bought the bike?

Not my shop, I wish it was though.  Its at home in my meager building now.  I have the carbs, they had been taken off for cleaning.
I'll strip the whole bike, redo the frame and go from there...

Do you know any history on the bike. Did you buy it from the original owner? How many miles? How did you find it, CL,Ebay or just got lucking and ran across it.

It is pretty much all original with 22k miles,  the guy that owned it before me was the second owner and he is a older gentleman that used it for highway cruising.  He had put highway bars and a big windshield on it. I saw it listed on craigslist
